Couple Forced 1-Year-Old to Drink Beer, Hit Him for Throwing Up

A Louisiana couple was arrested after the pairforced a 1-year-old boy to drink beer and then hit him after he vomited.

Krysten Verdin, 23, and her boyfriend Brett Flower, 24, were seen forcing beer down the baby’s throat at a family event. Flower was the one who allegedly poured the alcohol down the infant’s throat multiple times, according to witnesses.

When the baby began to choke on the beer and vomited, though, Verdin”become agitated and slapped the child on the back of the head, causing him to fall on the floor,” according to the witness, who made an official statement for police after notifying Louisiana’s Department of Child Services.

Both Verdin and Flower were arrested on Tuesday and charged with child abuse.

Flower later admitted to forcing the baby to drink the alcohol because he “thought it would be funny”, according to Detective Daniel Seuzeneau of the Slidell Police Department.. The detective did not say where the baby currently is, but did note that Flower is not the child’s father.

Verdin also told police that it was Flower who forced the alcohol on the baby, but she did not admit to hitting the infant. Bond has not been set for the couple.

When asked where she’d be in five years time, she said: “I’ll be 30. I’ll probably still be single, let’s be honest.

“No one’s going to sign up for this and everything that goes with it. Like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you, want a date? Do you love camera flashes? I hope you do!’

“I don’t know what’s going to happen if I’m ever content in a relationship – no idea how that’s going to work. I don’t even know if that’s possible with the life I have.”

However, the prospect of being single for another five years doesn’t bother the 25-year-old singer, who has admitted she would rather have fun and be adventurous.

She added: “I used to think it was important to find a boyfriend.

“But I don’t feel that it is now. I just want to have as much fun and as many adventures as possible.”

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty has insisted that when she does find love, her music will still be inspired by the ups and downs of relationships because she would be able to find “complexity in happiness”.

She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I don’t think anything’s ever simple. Just because you’re happy in a relationship doesn’t mean that there aren’t moments of confusion or frustration or loneliness or sadness.

“Hopefully, if I ever find some sort of meaningful relationship, I’ll be able to still find inspiration, just through the everyday ups and downs.”
