Woman Lived with Dead Hubby for Months Because She Thought Prayer Would Bring Him Back to Life

This week, Canadian courts heard the case of a woman living with her dead husband for months because she believed prayer would bring him back to life.
Peter Wald, 51, is believed to have died in March in his Hamilton, Ontario home.
Yet his wife, Kaling, decided not to bury him or notify anyone of his death. Instead, she and her five children, as well as other adults who lived in her home, prayed that Peter may be receive the gift of resurrection as found in the New Testament.
“Kaling and her five children who resided in the house are devout Christians and thought Peter would be resurrected and therefore kept the door locked and waited for him to come to life,”  Crown counsel Janet Booy wrote in the court documents. “There were also friends who resided at the house. They all prayed on a daily basis for Peter to come back to life.”
For months, Peter’s body remained in the home – sealed off in a room to reduce odors – until finally in September the police arrived to evict the occupants due to non-payment of the mortgage.
Once they arrived, authorities discovered Peter’s body in an advanced state of decomposition and an investigation against Kaling was launched.
Kaling was initially charged with neglect of duty regarding a dead body as well as offering an indignity to a corpse, but those charges were ultimately reduced when both parties agreed she was not acting out of malice towards her husband or his remains.
As a result, in court this week, Kaling  pleaded guilty to the single charge of  failing to notify police or the coroner of a death.
She received a suspended sentence and was ordered into counseling.
Her lawyer, Peter Boushy, said Kaling’s actions were all a result of her fervent faith.
“Just as Jesus raised Lazarus after the fourth day, so too did she believe God would resurrect her husband in due time,” he said.

Zombies hit Ukraine broadcasting agency

Ukraine's government broadcasting agency had a problem on its hands Wednesday: Zombies. There were dozens of them outside to protest an increasingly "zombified" public willing to put up with more Russian programming on the walking-dead network of Ukrainian TV.
The Kremlin is in the midst of a new press to spread the Russian word through "Sputnick," a global expansion of its state-run media operations.
Now the "zombies" are demanding Russian programs be jettisoned. They particularly object to Russian sitcoms that they say glorify the Russian military.
Organizers say they "deeply resent the domination of hostile Russian content" on Ukrainian television.
Ukraine's National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council responded to the protest by saying that it is working on new legislation to combat Russian propaganda. "It will have more authority to see such matters are dealt with easily and quickly," said representative Vladislav Sevryukov.

NASA has 3D printed an object in space for the first time

NASA has officially 3D printed an object in space for the first time, on board the International Space Station.
The printer was delivered at the end of September, with help from SpaceX, and it was tested for the first time this week. The object they decided to make is a small placard that says "Made in space, NASA."
NASA astronaut Barry "Butch" Wilmore created the test object.
"This first print is the initial step toward providing an on-demand machine shop capability away from Earth," said Niki Werkheiser, project manager for the International Space Station 3-D Printer at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. "The space station is the only laboratory where we can fully test this technology in space."
The printer was made by a California company named Made in Space, which spent a large portion of two years learning how to 3D print an object without the aid of gravity.
The test found that the part adhesion was stronger than they had predicted, and they intend to study how printing differs in low gravity. NASA will have the printed pieces sent back to Earth for further investigation.

David Beckham injured in car crash

The 39-year-old hunk is said to have been hurt after collecting his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham from the Arsenal training ground this morning (29.11.14), with a number of eye witnesses taking to social media to discuss the unfortunate incident.
Thomas Cadman, who played for Brighton under-16s against Brooklyn’s side, said on Twitter: “Weird to play against Brooklyn Beckham earlier. Even weirder to be currently stuck behind David Beckham as he has crashed his car. (sic)”
Archie Davies, a team-mate, said: “Just seen David Beckham looks like he got in a car crash and hurt his shoulder. Star struck by seeing David Beckham tbh.”
It’s been claimed that the incident involved one other vehicle and although David appeared to injure his shoulder in the collision, he is not thought to be hurt badly.
Brooklyn, 15, was signed by Arsenal on a short-term contract earlier this month, while his brothers – Romeo, 12, and Cruz, nine – have also been playing for the club’s youth teams.
Prior to joining Arsenal, Brooklyn was linked to other football clubs in the English Premier League, including Chelsea.

Robot Terrorist Bird Found in Afghanistan

Afghan police said they are investigating how a wild bird came to bear an antenna, electronic devices and explosives. Police came across the strange sight around 8 a.m. in the northern Faryab province, a volatile region ravaged by Taliban violence. When police spotted the white bird –which isn’t native to the area and appeared larger than an eagle for those of you keeping track of those things — walking along a highway, they noticed it had an antenna and decided to shoot it. The bird then exploded, he said, and “suspicious metal stuff” scattered around.
“We are gathering all the stuff, but found parts of what looks to be GPS and a small camera,” a local police spokesperson said. He added that this was the first time police have made such an encounter. Police added that it is possible the bird had been “deployed” on a surveillance mission or suicide mission.
A couple of key takeaways.
First of course, is that everyone in Afghanistan is insane, and left alone they will simply kill each other, using rocks and sticks if nothing else (say mutant chickens or training ninja cats) is handy. At this point we probably should let them go for it. Next, the Afghan police have got it going on; whenever they see something strange, say a white bird with an antenna, their go-to move is to just shoot the damn thing. Third, if you find yourself in Afghanistan and decide to shoot at some weird thing, assume it will be filled with suspicious metal stuff and explode. Fourth, best to know EXACTLY what size and color local birds are in your area.
Alternate Theory: this is the very first step in the Rise of the Machines.

63 Senators Meet to Discuss President Jonathan's Looming Impeachment

63 Senators who had earlier signed an impeachment register to remove President Goodluck Jonathan will meet later today to elaborate on plans for the impeachment.

The 63 senators who had signed up to remove President Goodluck Jonathan will meet on Monday (today) evening to perfect their strategy for making it a reality.

One of the coordinators of the impeachment plan, who made this known to our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday, said the agenda of the meeting would centre on how to handle the case on the floor of the Senate.

But the senator, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, did not disclose the venue of the meeting for security reasons.

He said, “All of us will meet tomorrow (Monday) evening to discuss when we are going to move the motion on the floor of the Senate. We have an appreciable number already and I believe that more people will join when they see the seriousness with which we are going about it.
