Jack Woodward, 22, may have looked strange as he ran the London Marathon dressed as a giant pair of testicles, but he was doing it for a good reason.
The British student ran the marathon in 5 hours, 45 minutes, and 6 seconds, which isn’t a great time. However, he wasn’t running it to set records, but rather, to raise awareness for testicular cancer, a cause that almost any male can get behind.
Woodward figured the best way to remind men to screen for cancer was to run as a giant pair of testicles.
“We really want to get this message across and hope by running in the costume that more people will notice the cause and think about the message,” he said before the race.
Before the race, Woodward set a fundraising goal of 5,000 pounds, and to date, has raised 77 percent of that goal.
The testicle costume received positive media attention as people couldn’t pass up on the chance to take a photo with Woodward and his unique costume.
