10 Year-Old Tristen Kurilla Charged For Murder Of 90 Year-Old in Pennsylvania

Tristen Kurilla, a 10 year-old boy from Scranton, Pennsylvania, might just be the youngest person in the country to be charged as an adult for homicide. The boy was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police Tuesday, charged in the killing of 90 year-old Helen Novak.
He was visiting his grandfather who worked as Novak’s caretaker. The boy claims he went to ask Novak a question, who then yelled at him to to leave. Tristen Kurilla got lethally angry after that, allegedly grabbing a cane and hooked it around her neck from behind.
Tristen Kurilla is being charged as an adult, because Pennsylvania law does not allow for juvenile charges of criminal homicide.
