The story seems like it is straight from a Halloween tale of horror. Unfortunately, this time it is real.
Anatoly Moskvin was known as a genius historian in Russia. He also had a sick perversion.
He was obsessed with the bodies of young girls, so much in fact, he dug up little girls’ graves and brought the corpses into his home.
Now one mother, whose daughter’s body was found in Moskvin’s home after his 2011 arrest, is speaking out.
At age ten, Natalia Chardymova’s little girl was brutally murdered while walking to her grandparents alone.
For five months, Natalia had no idea what happened to little Olga. Then, her body was discovered, still with the same green bag she had when she walked out the door on that fateful day.
That was in October 2002.
For nearly a decade, Natalia and her husband visited the grave, never suspecting the crime. Then, in 2012 police, who suspected Moskvin’s corpse theft – opened up the grave and found it empty.
“You can’t begin to imagine it, that somebody would touch the grave of your child, the most holy place in this world for you,” the grieving mom said. ”We had been visiting the grave of our child for nine years and we had no idea it was empty. Instead, she was in this beast’s apartment.”
Once Moskvin had Olga’s body in his home, he dressed her and turned her into a doll to add to his growing collection – 29 in total – of child death dolls.
Moskvin, who is now in secure psychiatric facility, told authorities variously that he had the corpse dolls because he wanted to learn how to mummify bodies. He also told them he wanted to talk to the young girls and ”I was waiting for science to find ways for these girls to live again.”
Whatever the reason, Natalia said having her daughter’s dead body used in this way is horrifying.
