Angry Mother Scalps Her 6-Year-Old Daughter for Not Being Able to Count to 12

Brittany Ruck, 25, of Conway, Pennsylvania has been accused of injuring her 6-year-old daughter. When her daughter failed to count to 12, she lifted her off of the chair by her hair, causing severe injuries.
Alleged reports indicated that “the girl’s scalp was separated from her skull and blood pooled around the girl’s eyes.”
Authorities questioned Ruck when she showed up to a local hospital seeking treatment for her daughter. The little girl told Conway police officer Mike Priolo her version of the story. She told him that “she could only count to 10 because she had 10 fingers, but she couldn’t count any higher. That’s when the mother grabbed her by her hair.”
“It’s just sad because she didn’t do anything wrong and she had to bear the brunt of pain,” Priolo told WPXI news. “The doctors told us there was a separation of the victim from her skull.”
This wasn’t the only case of violence that the child told police about. She told them that there was a separate occasion when her mother dragged her across the floor by her hair.
On Thursday, Ruck was charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Currently, she is being held in the Beavery County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
In addition, all three of her children have been removed from her care and are living with other family members. Her daughter made a full recovery and Ruck’s husband, to date, hasn’t commented on the story.
