Would You Sleep with This Woman?

While her travel plans currently are focused on her native China, a 19-year-old woman is planning on using her body to pay for the trip. She insists, however, that sleeping with men in return for a place to stay and transportation costs is not prostitution.

Ju Peng of Shanghai, shown above, apparently posted an ad to Chinese microblogging site Weibo looking for “temporary boyfriends” who must be “good looking, under 30, taller than 1.75 metres [5' 9"] and, of course, rich”. Ju says the temporary boyfriends “will fund my transport to their city and all my expenses while I am there and they need to be generous. In return, they get a whole night with me, my undivided attention, and a chance to show themselves off in the company of a truly beautiful girl.”

Ju says she has already successfully travelled all over eastern China using this method and wants to see the rest of her country, but does not have enough money to fund it herself.

Some people in China on social media and beyond are upset, accusing Ju of prostitution. She is nonplussed, and perhaps a bit confused as to word meanings. “It is sort of like hitchhiking. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
